Network Engineer
Job Description
Design planning guidelines, collaborate with planners to create cost-effective IP Metro networks, govern Cisco LLD documents, review IPRAN audits to eliminate SPOFs, contribute to network design and management, and participate in internal training sessions
Responsibilities
- Design Planning Guidelines as reference for Vendors / Partners to follow
- Work with Regional Access Planners, Fiber Planners and DWDM Planners to design the most cost effective and efficient IP Metro network
- Govern Cisco Low Level Design (LLD) documents submitted by CD Partner as part of Decom/Relocation under Network Integration project.
- Review Cisco IPRAN network audit, identifying which nodes have Single Point of Failure (SPOF). To drive Regional planners, SMEs and project team until all the SPOFs are eliminated.
- Contribute to the design, implementation and ongoing management of the IP Metro network.
- Participate in internal training sessions of the department or company as planned.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or equivalent;
- Knowledge on MPLS, Layer 2 / 3 VPNs, VPLS, Carrier Ethernet, QoS and IPsec
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and routing knowledge (including but not limited to BGP, MP-BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP, IS-IS)
- Huawei or Cisco certification will be an added advantage(s)
- Knowledge on Cisco products such as ASR9xx, NCS5xx and ASR9xxx
- At least 5 year experience in the field of TCP/IP and routing knowledge
- Good communication skills (both oral and written) and fluent in English
- Good team and relationship builder with excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Strong sense of quality and responsibility; able to work well in a fast-paced, multi-cultured dynamic environment.
