Job Description:
Role Summary:
- Drive operational excellence programs by collaborating with divisional leaders and initiative owners to make CelcomDigi the most efficient telco in the region
Responsibilities:
- Implement Cost Strategies: Drive divisional leaders and initiative owners to achieve operational excellence in cost management.
- Analyse Costs: Review company’s costs to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and high-impact savings opportunities.
- Drive Process Improvements: Collaborate with divisions to streamline and automate processes for better cost savings efficiency.
- Support Change Initiatives: Communicate the need for savings efforts to the organisation, address concerns, and encourage adoption of new practices.
- Track Results: Monitor relevant cost KPIs, report progress, and recommend adjustments where necessary to meet targets.
- Manage Risks: Identify risks in cost-saving measures and work on actionable mitigation plans.
- Facilitate Collaboration: Ensure regular communication and cooperation among teams for aligned cost optimisation efforts.
- Champion Continuous Improvement: Bring forward new cost-saving ideas including regular refilling of ideas to meet target, debottleneck key process issues, and keep up with best practices.
Requirements:
Experience:
-
- Typically, 5+ years of experience in financial management, cost accounting or running cost transformation programs; or
- Proven experience in leading operational excellence programs, with a focus on cost management
- Industry Experience: Experience within the telecommunication industry
Education:
-
- A bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, accounting, or other field
- An advanced degree such as an MBA or a master's in any discipline can be advantageous
Skills and Competencies

- Strategic thinking, good leadership and influencing skills, excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
- Familiar with Zero Based Budgeting, strategic target costing, global cost benchmarking
- Expertise including certification in process improvement methodologies, including Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt) and Lean is highly desirable
Characteristics:
- Strong external orientation, adept at coaching, continuous improvement mentality, and skilled in constructive challenge
